Do you struggle with nagging or persistent pains? Maybe an old knee injury, or perhaps your elbow has never been the same? Well its old (though important) news that strength training – when performed correctly – can help with all manner of aliments; and it would hardly come as a surprise to know our trainers would highly recommend it.
But what you don’t know is that Club Vitality isn’t just your run-of-the-mill 24/7 gym, and thanks to this, we’re always looking for new ways to manage old injuries, improve fitness, health & vitality. One way we do this is in our relaxation sanctuary. Our private men’s/women’s spa and sauna rooms are fully equipped for relaxation and recovery. Each spa room contains a O2/Magnesium Spa and infra-red sauna, which together boast a large array of health benefits!
It’s little known that roughly 85% of humans are magnesium deficient, a state that leads to lower oxygenation and poorer circulation within the body that – among other things – compromises the body’s natural immune defences leaving us tired, rundown and more susceptible to many harmful stimuli such as viral & bacterial illness, injury or infection. The magnesium is able to passes through the skin trans-dermally and helps accumulate oxygen in the blood. This O2 rich red blood is then shuttled throughout the body more efficiently and works from the inside out to reduce muscle soreness; balance electrolytes in the body – ensuring proper functioning of muscles & nerves; and reduces the possibility of heart attack or stroke. The leftover magnesium ions help relax the mind, reducing irritability by downregulating the effects of adrenaline on the nervous system, alleviating feelings of anxiety and stress.
If spas aren’t your thing (though, like, why wouldn’t they be?) then an infrared sauna might be more your thing! By producing the same short-wave infrared radiation (the good kind) as our sun (0.8 – 1.5 µm) heat emitted from an infrared sauna can promote positive changes in our cells and organ systems. While traditional saunas heat the air or steam to heat the body, the SW radiation (still the good kind) penetrates 1.5 inches into the skin to deeply heat your joints, muscles & tissues. As a result, there is an array of infrared sauna health benefits, including:
- Weight loss;
- Relief from sore muscles & joint pain;
- Clear and tighter skin;
- Improved circulation,
- Help for those with chronic fatigue syndrome.
In addition, the club will have an on-site masseuse to take your relaxation & recovery efforts to the next level.
